Congratulations and thank you for considering The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel for your wedding reception. This is a very exciting time for you and your family. We are sure you have a lot of questions, so here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.

Yes, wedding ceremonies are welcome at The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. There is a $3.00 per person charge to host a ceremony indoors and a $6.00 per person charge to host a ceremony outside in the Grand Garden. Due to scheduling constraints, on-site ceremonies are difficult on Saturday evenings, but they are possible. Please speak to your wedding coordinator for details.
The deposit is usually $1,000.00 and is non-refundable. Your payment information is located on the second page of your contract.
Payments can be made by either cash or check. We do not accept credit cards. Your final payment is made by cash or certified/bank check only.
Discounts are given once you have met your guaranteed minimum. Children 5 to 10 years old are half price. Children 4 and younger are free. Professionals are $10.00 less than the full adult price each.
We call that your menu visit. You should call to schedule your visit 6 weeks before your wedding day. This allows us plenty of time to order your linens and cake, and gives you plenty of time to decide on your menu choices. Directional maps, reservation cards, place cards and floor plan will also be provided at this visit.
Your favors, place cards and other collectibles should come in five days prior to your wedding day at what we term your final visit. They should be labeled with the couples name and date of the wedding. Your place cards should be in alphabetical order. Any special instructions should also be noted.
Your final count is due five days prior to your wedding day. You should know the breakdown of your count, so we can give you an accurate final bill.

The number of seats on your floor plan should accurately reflect your total number of guests as listed above. You should bring your completed floor plan and final payment (by cash or certified/bank check) to your final visit.

You can rehearse your ceremony at The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel at an available date and time that is convenient for you. Ask your wedding coordinator for details.
Unfortunately, we have a no shot policy. Due to safe alcohol service, we are not permitted to serve shots on the bar, at any time.
